Who we are

The Darts App (thedarts.app and the iOS and Android apps) is run by Joinue LLC.

What we collect

An account is required to use the app. When you create one, we store your email address, display name, handle, avatar image, skill level, and the game data you generate (players, scores, matches, tournaments, friends). Authentication is handled by Supabase.

A small amount of non-sensitive state (your display name, skill level, and UI preferences) is also mirrored to your browser's local storage so pages render instantly without waiting on a network round-trip.

We also note which days you open the app while signed in (the date only, not times or what you did), so we can count active players in aggregate.

How we use it

Your data powers the app: saving games, showing stats, connecting you with friends, and keeping the app working. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not run ads. We only share it with the service providers below, who run parts of the app for us and may not use it for anything else.

Service providers

  • Supabase (hosted on AWS): your account, sign-in, game data, and avatar images.
  • Vercel: hosts the website and API. Keeps standard request logs, such as IP address and browser type.
  • Sentry: crash and performance reports, so we can fix bugs. Reports may include a short replay of the screen with all text and inputs masked. We don't send your name or email.
  • Resend: sends account emails, such as the confirmation when you delete your account.
  • Upstash: rate limiting to prevent abuse. Your IP address is kept briefly for this.
  • Google or Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Stripe, only if you choose to leave a tip on the website. We never see your card details.

Cookies and tracking

On the website we use an authentication cookie to keep you signed in; the apps keep your sign-in on your device instead. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or fingerprinting. Crash and performance reports (see Sentry above) are the only diagnostics we collect.

Your data

Export: sign in and use “Download my data” on the Account page to receive a JSON file with everything we hold about you: your account and profile, players, teams, every game you played, tournaments you ran or entered, friends, invites, venues and staff roles, results you claimed, and any moderation notices on your account.

Delete: sign in and delete your account from the Account page, or request it without the app at thedarts.app/delete-account. Deletion permanently removes your profile, avatar, players, teams, friends, venues, activity, and the games only you played. Games and tournaments you played with other people stay in their history with your name shown as “Deleted player”; a tournament you run that others are in is cancelled and its results kept for them. Staff of a venue you own are told it has closed.

Kept after deletion: records of moderation actions on your account (such as a suspension) are kept for two years, then deleted. If the account was banned, a one-way code made from its email address (not the address itself) is kept for two years so it can't simply sign up again.
